According to Got Questions ” the Bible presents persistence as a positive character quality. Persistence is linked closely with endurance and perseverance.”
Your Dictionary describes persistent like this. Obstinately refusing to give up or let go. Insistently repetitive, continuous.
Synonyms include: determined, fixed, enduring, persevering, steadfast, unshakeable, urgent, non stop, unfailing, abiding.
One of my favorite Bible verses comes to mind, that being.
““Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”Matthew 7: 7-8 (NLT)
This verse is one of my favorites because I am reminded that if I ask with a humble heart, and steadfast persistence, even though I may not receive what I had been praying for. HE will still bless me with far more than what I’ve asked. I’ve been blessed abundantly over my years with what HE said was best for me. Not what I thought was best for me.
I am persistent in seeking him. Oh how I Love my uncreated, supernatural, creator of the universe and all in it, my beloved Abba.
I am persistent with presenting myself knocking on the door to his heart. He opens himself up to me, welcoming his daughter in.
Our Abba is Love. He Loves and cares for us. His blessings are infinite. He is persistent in his Love and in giving us good things. We must present our requests to him in prayer. Prayer takes persistence.
