Fruit Of The Spirit Affirmations— Faithfulness
Continuing onward in our look at each of the fruits of the Holy Spirit and how affirming them cultivates intentional mindfulness within us.
Affirmations are a statement intended to provide encouragement, emotional support, or motivation,
In Philippians 4:8, Paul gives us instructions on what we should think or meditate about.
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8— NLT
According to Wikipedia, In common language usage, “fruit” usually means the seed-associated fleshy structures (or produce) of plants that typically are sweet or sour and edible. The fruits of the Spirit are fine points that should naturally grow out of the proceedings of the Holy Spirit in our life.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, Goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! Galatians 5:22-23— NLT
Fruits of the Spirit affirmations are based upon Scripture to inspire us to cultivate the fruits of the Spirit in our daily lives. The word “Spirit” in these affirmations will be capitalized because these are fruits given to us by the Holy Spirit, not ourselves.
The fruits of the Spirit are:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Patience
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Faithfulness
- Gentleness
- Self-control

Faithfulness
Here on earth, we have places considered “Wonders of the World.” places that stand the tests of time and amazement.
Some are natural, and some are artificial. And still, some are underwater. Some are relatively newer. Some are old—like really ancient. But what they all have in common is how amazing they are to see and experience.
They are considered steadfast and constant wonders. But, through the years, the list changed, as did its title: New Wonders of the world, Natural Seven Wonders, and Modern Wonders of the world, to name a few.
Some of these include
— The Treasury at Petra, Jordan
— Christ the Redeemer, Brazil
— Grand Canyon, USA
— Aurora Borealis
— Perito Moreno Glacier, Patagonia
— Times Square, New York, USA
— Burj Khalifa in Dubai, India
— Grand Lisboa, Macau, China
In other words, the list was initially intended to be steadfast and unchanging. But, over time, priorities and traditions changed. The steadfast rule became not so steadfast.
But
The Spirit calls us to a different definition of steadfastness or faithfulness. It’s not meant to change. Our faith is trust and conviction interconnected to the Bible and what the Bible says about God. You must believe in His existence, works, and character. There is only one prerequisite to this faithfulness.
Here are verses about faithfulness to encourage you when you can’t see the final step.
Ending Faith
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
Hebrews 11:1-3— NLTI choose faith until the end.
The chapter of Hebrews 11:1-13 introduces us to the Heroes of Faith. Their belief and trust in God remained steadfast until their end.
— Can you place a name beside each example? As you read, prayerfully consider how their faithfulness can inspire your commitment to hold your faith until the end.

Walking Faith
I choose to walk in faith along a path that is narrow sometimes, following after the King of the UNIVERSE to a heavenly home. I sometimes walk and run but never give up because of my faith.
The path we walk is charted by faith, not by what we see with our eyes.

How has my upbringing influenced my faith?

Goodness
Have you ever met someone who you thought to be good? By looking at their mannerisms, you could determine they were not only good but full of Goodness.
Goodness is a fruit that can be cultivated and grown in our lives. Goodness becomes an inherent and intrinsic part of who we are when it’s developed and used.
The Spirit intends for others to see our Goodness. We are to let our good actions be seen as a testament to Him.
We become thoughtful to act on behalf of others for their good selflessly.

I choose to let others see Goodness in me through what I do for others.
My brothers and sisters, I am ultimately confident that you are full of Goodness, knowledge, and the ability to help and instruct one another.
Romans 15:14— VOICEIlluminated Goodness
Walking through a dark room can lead to injury. The light makes our walk safer. The fruits of Goodness are God’s shining light in our spiritual life.
I choose to let His light shine through my actions; they are a way others can learn and know the Lord.
For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.
Ephesians 5:8-9,— NLTDesired Goodness
We don’t have to preach great messages before crowds. And we don’t have to lead bible studies for hundreds.
My desire to do good directly responds to God’s calling in my life. My desire to show Goodness to others is part of His calling on my life.
With this in view, we constantly pray for you, that our God will count you worthy of your calling [to faith] and with [His] power fulfill every desire for Goodness, and complete [your] every work of faith

Intentionally Getting Back To You
It’s that time again. Where we gather together to give updates on our Word Of The Year; visit us to see how our One Word journies are going at the #OneWord Community over at my friend Lisa’s place.
I’m INTENTIONAlly getting back to you.
September was so busy. I participated in craft fairs with my friend. There were fairs back to back every weekend in September.
Some of you may have heard me say I’m a not-so-serious crafter. Throughout most of my adult life, I can either take or leave crafting. Usually, the mood comes and goes, and I have to jump on it when it happens.
I’ve been helping my older best friend in Christ make wreaths this past year. She then began participating in craft fairs/festivals over the past year. Now mind you, I’m still meh…
However, I love browsing Pinterest for everything from interesting facts to nostalgia. So for giggles, I began searching for different crafts other than wreaths. I found a few that piqued my fancy and made a few.
And guess what? Something totally unexpected happened. I felt JOY! Could it be that Jesus is leading me to try something new? My guess is yes. And he knows how much I LOVE to make and see people smile. So I think I’m on to something here and will give it a whirl.
Anyhow, I digress.
I wanted to let my blogging friends and readers know how much I appreciate you and your comments on my posts and when you share them.
I apologize if it’s been taking me a while to answer you. Please know that I will always Intentionally answer you, even if it takes me a bit.
Intentionally Getting Back To You,
Sincerely,
— Me

Kindness
Imagine you’re walking down the street while shopping, and ahead of you, you see a young man hurrying to open the door for a woman. One arm is loaded with bags while the other works to steer a stroller holding a small child. The toddler drops her toy, and the young man reaches down to pick it up and hands it back to the child. He holds the door open until they are safely inside, then he walks ahead of you down the street. He chose kindness.

A Compromising Poem
This post is part of the Five Minute Friday blog link-up. Where I join up with a community of writers and bloggers of all ages and stages who gather around a single-word prompt to free-write, unscripted, unedited, for five minutes. This week’s word prompt is {COMPROMISE}
GO
Called to write for Jesus
On a brilliant November day.
Musing and hem-hawing along the way.
Praying to make sure I heard right and
Rambling to him about why I wasn’t right.
Obediently trusting my Father because He knows best. He
Mentioned to me that I am beloved and has a job for me. He
Ignites my soul and
Set me free.
Eagerly serving Him. That’s me.

Patience
I Choose Patience
When we’re in a traffic jam or on a heavily congested highway, we see that humankind is not patient. We want to travel and get there fast, from standing in the slowest line in the grocery store or in bumper-to-bumper traffic. The bottom line is we don’t like to be delayed.
God is our most outstanding example of patience. He lovingly waits for us to repent and stop wrecking up our lives. We should try our best to mirror the love and mercy that God shows us.

Peace
The world is uncertain. Jobs and the economy are not secure. Marriages, at times, crumble. Many neighborhoods aren’t safe. There is drought, famine, floods, and much more.
But where does this uncertainty leave us? Sometimes— but not always— we might want to crawl under a rock and just hide, cocooning ourselves safely inside.
Imagine this: A raging ocean with waves crashing on a craggy and rocky coastline. Ocean spray spraying into the sky. Churning waves and black and gray storm clouds fill the sky above. But, suddenly, you see something, squinting now. Your eyes are drawn to two rocks leaning against one another, fashioning an opening there was a white form. Could it be? To your amazement, it’s a slumbering seabird, nestled in its nest, safe from the storm because of the shelter of the rock. The little bird was at peace, although a storm raged around her.

Sustaining Friendships From Midlife And Beyond— A Woman’s Guide{{Sweet Tea & Friends October Link Up}}
Have you ever been in Girl Scouts? I bet even if you haven’t, you know someone who was. And I bet you know this tune from the friendship song.
Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver; the other is gold.
Admit it; you sang that line, didn’t you? I know I did.
Friendships are such a treasure; some come into our lives for just a season, while others last our lifetime.

As we approach our forties and fifties, we may find that some of our friendships have fallen away. It’s a big change from when we were attending school or raising young children. Then, we were surrounded by other kids and parents eager to get together for play dates, birthday parties, or school functions.
Sometimes you may feel like you’re on your own now. Particularly if you’re transitioning through an empty nest like packing your kids off to college, their first apartment, or even marriage.
Tips for Old Friendships
— Plan to meet up with a friend. I say plan because life can be crazy, and we may need to plan in advance to have coffee or dinner with our friends.
— Call, text or video call your friend. It’s not the same as being present in person, but it can bridge long distances.
— Send your friend a snail mail card, just because.
— On the other hand, maybe you still wonder about a former coworker or someone you went to school with you haven’t seen in years. You never know if God is touching you with that person. Think about it, why don’t you reach out?
Tips for New Friendships
— Consider your interests, visit some places where you’re likely to find others who love the Lord and Attend a Bible Study or church function. You can even sign up for craft, painting, or fitness classes.
— Volunteer in your community. Working for causes you believe can lead to lasting friendships.
— There are advantages to socializing with people of different ages. Interact with someone older or younger when you’re eating lunch in the park, at a church function, or even at the grocery store.
— Be patient. Sometimes it takes time to develop a connection.
Tips for Any Friendship
— Know when it’s time to take off your mask. Friendships develop when we allow others to know us. You can become more personal as you become comfortable with each other.
— Sometimes, we get rejected, and that’s okay. Give yourself credit for trying, but don’t be afraid to try again.
— Focus on meaningful interactions.— Having a few close friends is a treasure and a blessing from God. But, Later in life, you may enjoy more solitude while still treasuring when you gather with friends or loved ones.
— Be supportive. If you can help, help. Give and receive with grace.

Fruit Of The Spirit Affirmations— Joy
In the coming weeks, we’ll be taking a look at each of the fruits of the Holy Spirit and how affirming them cultivates intentional mindfulness within us.

- Gentleness
- Self-control

Joy
Biblical joy comes from our knowledge and understanding of the purpose of life and the hope of living with God for eternity (Psalm 16:11). Joy is a sign that life has found its purpose (John 6:44). Joy comes from God, not from the world. Pure joy is very clear and represents an example of the kind of “jump for joy” or “shout for all to hear joy” that we’ve found life’s purpose of living with God for eternity.
Pastor Jack Wellman of Patheos tells us there’s a difference between joy and Happiness. “The Bible never promises happiness to the believer.” He goes on to say, “Happiness is temporarily based on happenings. While joy is from the Lord and can be experienced during trials, suffering, and tests. So, joy is permanent, and Happiness is fleeting.”
Selfless Joy
I choose a joy that can be multiplied. Following my own intentions and seeking out material possessions may offer Happiness, but not lasting joy. Seeking God’s kingdom offers a special joy that can satisfy my soul.
These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.
John 15:11— NASBSpirit-Led Joy
Positive thinking cannot bring lasting joy. Joy is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit within us. His joy is an attribute of Christ followers.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
Galatians 5:22— NASBRewarding Joy
A happy heart freshens my sense of joy. Laughter lightens my load and energizes me.
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22— NIVIntentional Joy
I choose joy, even during times of hardship. In every moment, I have peace knowing this test develops my ability to endure future hardships.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
James 1:2-3— NIVSelf Reflections

What is the difference between joy and Happiness?
How can I share my joy with others today?

This post is part of the Five Minute Friday blog link-up. Where I join up with a community of writers and bloggers of all ages and stages who gather around a single-word prompt to free-write, unscripted, unedited, for five minutes. This week’s word prompt is {COMPROMISE}
GO
Called to write for Jesus
On a brilliant November day.
Musing and hem-hawing along the way.
Praying to make sure I heard right and
Rambling to him about why I wasn’t right.
Obediently trusting my Father because He knows best. He
Mentioned to me that I am beloved and has a job for me. He
Ignites my soul and
Set me free.
Eagerly serving Him. That’s me.

Sustaining Friendships From Midlife And Beyond— A Woman’s Guide{{Sweet Tea & Friends October Link Up}}
Have you ever been in Girl Scouts?

- Love

- Peace
- Longsuffering
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Faithfulness
- Gentleness
- Self-control
