This post was originally published on September 10, 2021 and is part of the Five Minute Friday blog link-up. Where I join up with a community of writers and bloggers of all ages and stages who gather around a single word prompt to free-write, unscripted, unedited, for five minutes. This weeks word prompt is {RESCUE}
Kate said, rescue,
Your Dictionary defines that to rescue means (figuratively) To remove or withdraw from a state of exposure to evil and sin.
I can’t help but be reminded of how God rescued the Israelites several times over. Much like me. I tried to do life on my own, but I failed miserably.
I did grow up in a Christian family; I believed, loved, and proclaimed Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. The thing about that was that I was a lukewarm Christian.
The difference between then and now is that while I believed, I was still in the world following worldly ideals.
Later on, while hitting rock bottom, God comes along and rescues me — again! This time though, I admitted, ” God, I can’t do life on my own. Every time I try, I fail.”
Now? I have a relationship with him. He’s my rescue story.
Rescue Story by Zach Williams really fits perfectly with my rescue story. What about you?
