Five Minute Friday

Beyond Suffering

This post is part was originally published on December 11, 2020 as part of the Five Minute Friday blog link-up ( Five Minute Friday link-up). Where I join up with a community of writers and bloggers of all ages and stages who gather around a single word prompt to free-write, unscripted, unedited, for five minutes.

When I read this week’s word prompt from Kate, I immediately knew without thinking about it, what I was going to write about. This week’s word prompt {Beyond}.

Go

Beyond suffering. As someone who has several chronic illnesses along with chronic pain, it is easy to perseverate on what I am not, or what I cannot do in this borrowed earthly body.

I have to look beyond suffering, if I stay stuck perseverating on this broken-down body I know from my experiences that I will sink into the darkness of depression. And, from my experiences, I know that if I stay stuck I will not be able to move forward. While it is so hard here in my “bubble” and took me many years to see that with the love and guidance, the push, the come as I am from God, I can run the good race with him as my pilot and move beyond suffering.

Stop

WIth my God as my pilot, I am: An adopted daughter of the king of the universe, saved, blessed, redeemed, and loved beyond incomprehensible measure. I’m also a woman who serves Christ and is head over heels in love with him. I am a mother, daughter, friend, server, blogger for his kingdom, disciple, his messenger, compassionate, genuine, humble, and differently-abled. And, If I really gave an in-depth thought about it, so much more, beyond suffering.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I come before you today.

to humbly ask for your

favor to come upon anyone

who is suffering. Whatever

their suffering may be. I pray

that you cover them with the

precious blood of your lamb. I

pray for peace, and comfort,

and for them to know you love

them and can help them through

this time.

In Jesus name,

Amen.
