Exasperated is sometimes confused with Exacerbate.Let’s look at this before I go any further. Exacerbate is used when describing a situation and refers to making an already bad situation worse. Exasperate refers to the emotional state of a person.
So here I go. Welcome to Western Pennsylvania pick a season, I mean temperature. It can range anywhere from something below zero to high 40’s and I’ve even experienced up to high 50’s. This is in the winter months.
The fluctuation in temperature causes my chronic pain to do somersaults. If the weather either stays warm or stays cold my body adapts. While my pain is always there, the sudden fluctuations in temperature causes my pain to escalate, sometimes quickly…
These factors cause my anxiety and depression to become exasperated. My depression is exasperated during the winter months. I’m more apt to keep my window blinds closed, not a fan of leaving my house, and am more irritable. Once the time changes to daylight saving time springing ahead (this year it happens to begin on March 14th), my depression will become less exasperated.
Speaking of being exasperated, I love to refer to reading in the Psalms. Every human emotion is reflected throughout. Psalms ranging from lament, pain, despair to joy, hope, zeal, fear, anger, peace, loneliness, awe. I could go on and on with more human emotions and instructions reflected within.
Friend, whenever you are feeling exasperated you can turn to God, he is faithful and always with us. In his Word you will find the peace and comfort you need, (and instructions) from our Loving Father. He wants to have an intimate relationship with us.
Thank you Abba, for showering your insanely abundant love on me. When I am feeling exasperated by any situation, I know that I can come to you for peace, comfort, and direction.
